Loudspeakers, and the software to tune them
I'm Arnaud Demion, an engineer with a background in physics, and DEM Audio is my company, based in Valais, Switzerland. I design loudspeakers and write the software I use to tune them. Both follow the same approach. I start from a physical model, measure what the speaker actually does, and correct the difference with digital filters.
My services cover three areas: software licensing for LinFIR (measurement and filter design), engineering and consulting for loudspeaker manufacturers, and the design and build of custom loudspeakers delivered as complete active systems.

What I can do for you
LinFIR software
Measure your drivers, design FIR and IIR crossovers and corrections, and check directivity against CTA-2034-A. Everything on-axis is free. The Advanced Module costs €149.
Engineering & consulting
For manufacturers and pro-audio companies. I can handle acoustic design to your specification, waveguides and DSP tuning, or build a fully automated measurement-to-filter pipeline for your production line.
Custom loudspeakers
A complete active system built around your room and the way you use it, with cabinets, drivers, DSP and amplification. It can be a simple pair of 2-way speakers or a full 5-way system.
Used by Amadeus
Amadeus uses LinFIR. They have been designing loudspeakers and high-end signal processing equipment for more than thirty years.
How I work
Digital filtering, with a few exceptions
Crossovers and equalisation run in the DSP. That makes them precise and repeatable, and I can still adjust them after measuring. I keep a few passive components where they reduce distortion, typically a notch or a low-pass filter that stops the cone's break-up modes from being excited.
Phase and timing
I use linear-phase FIR crossovers and align the drivers in time, so they sum cleanly through the crossover region without any correction boost.
Directivity
Waveguides and baffles are shaped with BEM simulations and numerical optimisation, so the off-axis response is part of the design from the start.
Measurements
Every design is checked with polar measurements and a CTA-2034-A spinorama.
